YONKERS – A Bronx man and his Yonkers passenger are dead after a motorcycle accident late Friday night, according to police.
The identity of the 31-year-old Bronx man who rode the motorcycle and the 45-year-old Yonkers woman has been withheld pending family notification, police said in a statement on Saturday.
An investigation revealed that the motorcycle was traveling at high speed east on Yonkers Avenue when it encountered a car turning left off Yonkers Avenue onto Walnut Street. The motorcyclist and passenger were thrown from the motorcycle and the car spun around, according to police.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police, and the passenger was taken to an area hospital where she succumbed.
Police said local evidence suggested that only one of the people on the motorcycle may have been wearing a helmet.
The driver and front passenger of the car were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
According to police, investigators interviewed witnesses, checked the surveillance video and processed forensic evidence. The crash is still being investigated by the police and the doctor's office.
