One person was killed in a four-alarm fire in an apartment building at 112 Saratoga Ave. Sunday night. At least eight families were displaced due to the fire.

One person was killed in a four-alarm fire in a Yonkers apartment building Sunday night, officials said.
A second resident suffered very serious injuries after jumping from a third-floor window and was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, Mayor Mike Spano said.
The fire started around 7:30 p.m. at 112 Saratoga Ave. and quickly escalated when flames reached the cockloft and shot through the roof.

Red Cross spokeswoman Carolyn Sherwin said volunteers helped 26 adults and seven children from six families who were forced from their apartments.
An aerial drone from the Pelham Fire Department was deployed over the building as firefighters wrestled with the blaze.

The main body of the fire was placed under control at 10:55 p.m., but firefighters continued to chase hot spots.
