Candlelight Vigil deliberate for Yonkers Native, Rapper DMX


After his death last week, a candlelight vigil is planned in the hometown of Westchester of rapper DMX.

On Friday April 9th, DMX died after a week-long stay at White Plains Hospital after a heart attack at his Westchester home. TMZ reported that he initially suffered an overdose.

DMX is from Mount Vernon and grew up in Yonkers. DMX, whose original name was Earl Simmons, died surrounded by friends and family after receiving life support for several days.

To honor the life and legacy of DMX, the candlelight vigil is scheduled for 7pm: “Celebrate the life, legacy and ministry of Earl & # 39; DMX & # 39; Simmons ”. on Wednesday April 14th at 4th Street Park in Mount Vernon.

A flyer for the event contains a quote from DMX that says, "To live means to suffer, to survive … means to find meaning in suffering."
